Laura’s new cross media project, supported by Panasonic LUMIX’s Stories for Change collaboration with British Journal of Photography, is a bold documentation of a young Hasidic man stepping away from the stricter bounds of his faith. The project explores how we choose our paths in life and questions how much control we have to change who we will become.  Laura’s subject, Baruch, chose to leave his Orthodox Jewish community at the age of 16. The dramatic and challenging decision forced him to question his identity and future.  Interspersing scenes in historically religious settings with hints of his life in the Orthodox community, Laura tells his story with sensitivity and respect.
